Re: about dean's letter
mindswapper - 02-13-08 15:19 It is no longer called Dean's letter; it is renamed as MSPE. Check out AAMC website!
The rules are in ECFMG website too!

Re: about dean's letter
larspb - 02-13-08 21:36 Since you did not go to Medical School in USA i guess that you do not receive MSPE from your school's Dean. You need to talk to the Dean and explain to him that he needs to write a letter for you. The smatest thing to do is to look up how the MSPE should be and give him information on that. You can also write a draft for him and he or she could edit that. I do not know where you are from, but since you have been here for 2 years I believe you have received letters of recommendations. Good luck. It is a lot of work, but if you plan it well you will get into a residency program.

Re: about dean's letter
mindswapper - 02-14-08 09:29 MSPE is the best. A Dean's letter wud only be a substitute, whatsoever.
I know that some Med skools in some countries do not issue an MSPE but one can always take a print-out of the MSPE guidelines from the AAMC website and then talk to ur Med skool officials &/ or the Dean. They will surely oblige ur request.
Here's the link:
