My letter writer has mentioned that i would like to pursue residency in neurology. Can i use this research letter for pediatrics stating that i am looking for child neurology as fellowship?

No,u shud not do so! It will harm yur residency application rather than help it coz the letter writer has clearly mentioned about yur interest in Neurology rather than in Pediatrics.

how about using general ped-neuro lor for neurology.
I wud still advise not to use such an LOR for Neuro.Always use those LORs which hav been specifically written for that particular specialty.
However, if u hav no other option then u can use this LOR.
