yeah i think neurology residencies are easier for international medical graduates, but to match to a preliminary medicine is considered competitive

The Mean USMLE Step 1 score of Independent applicants, including IMGs,who matched into Neurology programs in 2009 was 224 and their Mean USMLE Step 2 score was 226.Their Mean number of research experiences were 1.8 and their Mean number of abstracts, presentations, and publications were 4.9 . Their Mean number of work experiences were 3 .
So, Neurology also needs good credentials to get into.
Good Luck!

thank you all for your replies.
just want to know, `mean number of work experience were 3` what does that mean?
does it mean work experience of 3 years in neuro field?

There is little variation across specialties or within specialties (matched or not matched) for
either the U.S. seniors or independent applicants(including IMGs). Across all specialties, however, independent applicants averaged more work experiences than U.S. seniors (3.5 versus 2.7), and a higher proportion of independent applicants (89.0% versus 84.8%) reported at least one work experience.
U can take it in terms of years. But, remember that it is not that big a factor in applicant matching.Independent Applicants(including IMGs) have more experiences because most of them take their USMLE Steps after finishing their medical school and this is not the case with AMGs who r bound to take USMLE exams during their medical school years and thus apply to residency programs without wasting more time.
Good Luck!
