It is a sort of experience in which one just observes and is not supposed to touch patieints.But,sometimes the supervising attending can allow an observer to take history and do a focussed physical exam.One can attend rounds, conferences,etc. as well.Getting a nice LOR after an observership can help strengthen one's CV.
