hi friends, i am a final year mbbs student from India. i scored 97 in step 1 but got 1 year extension in mbbs degree due to failure in final year.
Is it going to have major impact on my residency application. I am interested in psychiatry.
what should i do to improve my chances

It won't matter if u score high on yur USMLE Steps. So, score high on Step-2CK n pass Step-2CS on the first attempt only. Moreover, Psych is not that competitive for someone to match into.
U can apply for Clincial Clerckships in some top hospitals in the US as an MBBS student.Keep in mind that u can not do so after u graduate. So, do apply for the same if u can afford that.
Best Wishes!
