There may be some professor doing some research in yur medical school ,so just request any of them for assistance in their research. This may help as they may put yur name as one of the authors in their publications.
Regarding doing research in the US I may tell u that u do not need to pass USMLE Exams for that. For doing a research job in the US u need to have yur Bachelor's degree and significant research experience and some expertise in the techniques like ELISA,PCR,Animal Models, etc. After u have all this u can apply for post-doctoral research jobs in various institutes in the US.
Another way is to do clinical research in the USin various teaching hospitals which usually conduct such clinical research thro' out the year. For that u donot need any significant research experience.
But, all this is possible after u graduate except what u can do now in yur medical school.
Good Luck!
