About Residency Application n Interviews

Hello everyone!
Will a program not accept the application of a candidate if he had FAILED the match interview last year in the same field?
Or does the program not accept the application just because the candidate had applied for the match without having faced the interview?
Hope my doubts will be cleared...
Thanks

There r no such rules, but one thing which is pertinent to mention here is that if a program did not call an applicant for an interview this year then y shud the program do so next year if there has been no improvement in the credentials of that particular applicant.
Failing a residency interview one time does mean that one won't be called for an interview next time.
I hope it clears yur doubts.
Best Wishes!
