advice on residency
researchdoc - 06-10-08 19:03
I am new to this forum. Any advice will be highly appreciated.
I am a 2003 IMG graduate. I did my MPH at UCLA from 2003-2005. At the moment, I am involved in research. Have published 2 articles (I am the first author in one article and published in a high-tiered journal-Mayo Clinic Proceedings). Also, have presented four posters in clinical conferences. Currently, I am working on two more publications.
I am going to start doing USMLE in next 3 months. If I get very high scores in USMLE, do I stand I chance in securing a residency spot in university programs??

Yes.. Now what you need is some good scores on Steps 1 & 2 CK and you're all set for a university program. GL

radhamesramos - 06-11-08 16:56 Wow! That is outstanding, so if you get good scores in USMLE, and a couple of observerships, you are a good candidate for a University Program, but hurry up! because more than 5 years out of med school is against you
