Here is an alert regarding Plagiarised (Personal Statement) PS and providing wrong info in (Common Application Form) CAF:
An Important Note About Personal Statement Plagiarism
Copying language from any source, including the Internet, for use in your Personal Statement is considered plagiarism. Samples of published Personal Statements are found on the Internet. Although these samples may be used to assist you in writing your own Personal Statement, copying any portion of the published language and representing it as your own is plagiarism. Any reported allegations of plagiarism will prompt an investigation by AAMC and may result in your becoming ineligible to participate in training. ERAS participants should read and become familiar with the AAMC's ERAS Integrity Promotion Education Program.

The ERAS Integrity Promotion Education Program
ERAS' Integrity Promotion Program is designed to educate ERAS users about the types of events considered fraudulant; to discourage fraudulent activity; and to encourage reporting of such activity where warranted. Types of irregularities and activities targeted for investigation include, but are not limited to:
Omission of education extension
Omission of previous residency training
Submission of fraudulent publication citations
Submission of fraudulent LoRs
Plagiarism of personal statements

Ye, that is absolutely right!
But, I myself did not consider this much of an issue until recently when I heard some rumors about ECFMG doing something to check for plagiarised PS'.I say once again that this information is an unconfirmed one,and there is no proof available with anyone to support this claim.
I think it is my duty as a Moderator of the forum to inform all the members of this forum about such issues which can bring them into trouble. My duty does not simply end with answering yur questions, but it also includes warning the members about any issues which can bring them into any trouble.
When I was preparing for the USMLE exams I myself would dream of a forum like this where all my questions would be answered within hours with the best information available, where I could do MCQs,where I would be warned of the issues which could bring me into some trouble, where I would be guided at each and every step, etc. My dream has come true in the form of Doctok.
I will never let any of the members suffer for lack of correct information.
Good Luck!
