on 1.12.08 was my 2nd visa interview.I was asked 4 my stp1 score sheet.he looked at it for a long time.then asked 4 my medical degree certificate.he said 'only a second class,i think even if u go and write stp2cs u are going 2 fail.'and my visa rejection was confirmed.
my stp1 score-84''due 2 personal reasons i had 2 write stp1 with 45 days preparation. After a very long time somebody reminded me --i have only a 2nd class --medical degree.'my actual % is 63%.
i was hurt by the reason 4 denying visa.my stp2cs -Dec last wk.i will try again.if i dont do in Dec:i cant qualify for even a scramble.

Re: another bad visa experience kingofhearts - 12-02-08 03:58 well i personally think it was very rude on the part of that individual who highlighted your medical degree grade with such a tone ..... then what will be the condition of the individuals who have cleared their mbbs exams in 2nd and even in 3rd and fourth attempt......

Re: another bad visa experience sackatdoc - 12-02-08 10:23 63% is second degree????so what is first????and what that has to do with visa????once you passed the USMLE boards, that surpasses everything, which was this place exactly????I am truely amazed by this experience and definitely extremely sorry for what happened, but these fore sure can't be the reasons for denial, so what reasons have they stated in the form that is handed over to you at the time of denial???

drsuji - 12-02-08 11:53 YES, 63% IS A SECOND CLASS,&65% AND ABOVE IS FIRST CLASS& 75% AND ABOVE IS DISTINCTION.
This is true 4 all recognised Medical Colleges of India.
What is a first class in your college?plz name the country.
I was given a blue sheet with a cross against "not qualify 4 a non immigrant visa".
Did anybody get a written statement stating reasons 4 rejection?While giving me the blue sheet , he made the above statement verbally.

Re: another bad visa experience sackatdoc - 12-02-08 12:27 ok may be!!! but why to care for all this, how that person knew about such slabs???and what right he had to make such remarks???, I mean speculating your CS RESULT!!! by the marks you scored in MBBS, you can take him to court for this,they give a paper which is already printed but carries a check sign in one of the reasons that best explains the denial,I dont remember what color the paper given to me was,but that I got from country other than India, but US embassy rules are same Internationally!!!
I am also from India but didnt care for such slabs for class of degree coz it truely doesnt matter once you passed the USMLE boards.

Re: another bad visa experience ammupinky - 12-21-08 11:07 hello dear friends me too had tthe same experiance from chennai consulate ,india.my visa rejected twice in july and august .both instances they gave me the blue sheet.first it was an american lady she was actually very rude to me .she asked for the step 1 score sheet.i gave the same but along with that analysis paper .it showed my poor performance in ethics and epidemology.she asked me why?
i said this entirely different from what we practice in india.she doesnt seems interested in the same.my score was only 84 .and my st2 score was not released (it released the very next day).second time i was well prepared for the interview it was white lady she asked many questions and i believe she was satisfied with my answers till the last moment and the she turned it down and rejected my visa saying that visa is rejected under sec 214 b /potential emigrant.so now i am planning to take my third and final attemt jan .hope some of u can give me some tips for the same
