hello, i m an img from italy, doing my internship.i scored 252 in step1 and will be taking ck in july. can i apply for residency without cs? i m interested in surgery or ortho residency.

It is an excellent Step-1 score.Try to get the same or higher score on Step-2CK.Also, pass Step-2CS on first attempt.
Applying with Step-1 score only may not get u many interviews as there r many applicants with complete applications.It is best to apply with all the scores in hand.Nowadays, there r many applicants who r ECFMG cetified,so u may suffer because of this.
Coming back to yur question ,yes, u can apply to programs without a Step-2CS score.
BTW, orthopedics is very competitive a specialty to get into.U have to directly compete with the American graduates in order to get into this specialty.
