A healthy 28-year-old Middle-Eastern woman comes to the physician for a routine health maintenance examination. She has just delivered a 3.5 Kg (7.7 lb) baby boy three days ago. This was her first pregnancy. She has no complaints. She is a housekeeper. She does not use tobacco, alcohol, or drugs. Examination shows no abnormalities. She is breastfeeding, and she asks you what the best way is to know if the baby is being fed properly. Which of the following is the most accurate answer?
