I m fine.
Yes, ur Step-2CS reults will be declared at the maximum by the ROL deadline of 24th February,2010.The starting date of result reporting is 3rd February for u.
ECFMG Certificate is issued by or within two weeks of the compleion of all the prerequisites for ECFMG Certificate.U can also call the ECFMG and request them to issue it earlier.I think they will pay heed to yur request.
This is what the NRMP says about the IMGs without ECFMG Certificate:
" IMGs without ECFMG Certificate can still enter their rank order list.If the NRMP receives notification from ECFMG® that you have completed your exam requirements for certification by the rank order list deadline, you will be included in the Match. If we have not received ECFMG® confirmation, NRMP will withdraw you from the match shortly after the rank order list deadline and your rank order list will NOT be used in the match. You will receive an e-mail notification from the NRMP if this occurs."
I hope it helps.
Good Luck!

One absolutely needs to pass Step 1, 2CK and the CS to start working in a residency program. Programs want to make sure you are going to be able to fill the spot you are being hired for. If they hire you and then you fail any step, for example, they are left high and dry. Remember, residency isn't just training, you actually do a lot of work for the hospital, and they need a warm person in that spot without any exam worries. So, in order to match, pre-match, and often to get interviews, you need to have step 1, 2CK and the CS out of the way, and assure the potential programs that there is nothing standing between you and ECFMG certification.
However, it also depends on how much u impress the program. If u r from a well known Medical School, have high scores, don't need a visa ,etc. then a program can offer a prematch even without u having an ecfmg certificate. In that case the program has no worries about u.But, this does not happen very often.
In a nutshell, it is possible but does not happen so frequently.
Good Luck!

if you have your medical education credentials verified .......it will take 1-2 days for ecfmg to issue you a ecfmg certificate to you once you have passed CS and 1-2 weeks to deliver a copy of the certificate to you

Here is what the ECFMG says about the above issue:
"Standard ECFMG Certificates are sent approximately two weeks after all of these requirements have been met. Currently, ECFMG sends the Standard ECFMG Certificate to the applicant's address of record by Federal Express. If the address in your ECFMG record is a U.S. post office box, the certificate will be sent by certified mail."

U have to log into yur OASIS ECFMG account and there will u find a section for the Medical Credential Verification Status.
If u have sent the certified copy of yur Medical School Diploma alongwith yur Photos to the ECFMG then then only ECFMG will send those to yur medical school and yur medcial school has to send the verified documents alongwith yur medical school transcript back to the ECFMG.This way yur Medical Education Credentials r verified.

yes it's right that ecfmg certificate are DELIVERED after 1-2 weeks since you have met the requirements for certification.
But, it will only take 1-2 days for one to get CERTIFIED once you met the reuirements for certification.
getting certified is enough for change of your status in NRMP which can take another 1-2 days

The above statement talks about when the Certificates r usually sent(issued). It is not talking about when those Certificates r delivered which depends on one's location.
One only gets certified when the ECFMG Certificate is issued. The issue date is important here. This date is mentioned on the Certificate itself.
Ye,the day it is mailed or delivered to an applicant is not important.
E.g.,I got my passing Step-2CS results on 6th of August and my ECFMG Certificate was issued on 14th of August and then mailed to me on the same date.
However, one can get this process a bit quickened by calling the ECFMG right after getting his/her passing results.
Thanks and Good Luck!

Ye, that is good.Yur Credentials have been already verified. Now u need to only wait for the Step-2CS results and when u get the passing results ,do give a call to the ECFMG and request them to issue yur certificate a bit earlier.
For registering for the NRMP Match visit the website www.nrmp.org.U need to pay some fees for registering over there. This is where u will be submiting yur Rank Order List.Do register before the 30th of November,2009 in order to avoid the late registeration fee.
Here is what the NRMP says:
"Applicants who have not received their reports of performance for the required examinations(Step-1,Step-2CK,Step-2CS) may register for the Match with the NRMP. However, if by the rank order list deadline an applicant's examination results are not available and ECFMG® reports that the applicant has not met the examination requirements, the applicant will be withdrawn automatically from the Match."

So, going by these examples , the two weeks time is actually the maximum limit set by the ECFMG according to the workload they may be having. Thus , it can take anything from one day to two weeks time although one can get this process speedened up by calling them.
Good Luck!

February 24, 2010 is Rank order list certification deadline.
Applicants and programs must certify their rank order lists by 9:00 p.m. eastern time. CERTIFIED applicant and program rank order lists and any other information pertinent to the Match must be entered in the R3 System by this date and time.
As I told earlier that one does not need to be certified in order to enter his/her ROL.One only needs to pass all the required exams viz.Step-1,Step-2CK,Step-2CS before the ROL submission deadline. Thus, u donot need to be certified to participate in the Match.
Good Luck!

For Pediatrics it may hold true to some extent, but not for Transitional Year and Radiation Oncolgy.
The number of applicants applying to Transitonal Year Programs and Radiation Oncology is less.It means that not many IMGs r applying to these programs. So, the programs to which more AMGs apply do naturally become more competitive for IMGs.
The above data includes both the AMG and IMG applicants. So, u have to take care which interpreting this data.
