babbu5508 - 06-21-10 03:14 chorionic villi develop from the fetal trophoblastic tissue and hence its genotype has to be fetal...and that is the reason we use it for finding genetic abnormalities

bingousmle - 06-30-10 22:49 it will be both as the chorionic villi are formed from contributions by both maternal and fetal tissue though the fetal is more specific as maternal component is only the blood
