My answer is: e.

Lateral protrusion which are more common will first cause pain & stiffness of the neck .the pain often radiates to the scapular region & sometimes to the occiput. Cervical prolapsed disc does not involve multiple nerve roots but it affects a single nerve root which emerges above the corresponding vertebrae ie C5 nerve root is involved in case of C4/C5protrusion .
