Language profeciency is scored but its only a part of the scoring system for CS. If language is a problem please strengthen the other parts.

I believe a good language with some confidence can pass you the test. Of course we all came here cause we're good enough to crack the Steps, don't you think so? that's why I won't discuss your clinical skills.

yes!!
language proficiency is scored for!!
but dont worry i know people who werent that confident about their language who passed it!!
so im sure you will too!!
remember most of what you talk to the patient is basically out of what you have allways read from some book or the other!!
its only at the most 25% of usual non-subject stuff you talk.
for instance you ask the patient"where exactly do you have or feel the pain?"
now ask yourself howmany times since you have entered med.school have you used this sentence?
its as simple!!
best of luck

and the actors are trained to overlook strong accents, as long as comprehensibility is good, so the most important thing is to talk clear and with words and phrases that won't pose you a problem, in other words, stay simple, but professional.

If language is still a problem, speak slowly, and you are going to be more understood

How much you need to study really depends on you, if you have time and consistency you can finish your preparation in few days with an avarage of 5-6 hours a day.
