I was unsuccesful in clearing My Cs and appearing fr 2 nd attempt, plans fr 2008 match, plz tell me how much I ll be dis advantaged because of CS attempt.

Try next year and clear step 3 thereafter; As attempts harm your look on your application but adding good things helps !!
Do some obserevership/extenship, but don't ask me how.. just kidding.
We've discussed that in our forums.

But radha, he/she failed Step 2 CS and will appear for it later on, how is he/she "on time for the scramble"??

My advice then is: try to pass it now (doh! of course), try to clear step 3, and maybe an USCE may help (a lot!)...and 2009 might be a good year for you.

Definately you will be of a disadvantage. Now how much? Nobody can tell you that.
My advice: Dont worry about it because there is nothing you can do to reverse it. Reflect on your mistakes and try to pass it on your next attempt. There is still hope!!! Dont give up!

Why are you telling him 2009. Many programs accept applicants without the CS. He should not give up and try for the match this year also....

Programs can not recruit an IMG without ECFMG certificate for sure "and as we all know passing CS is part of getting it"..
