Erasing past experience

I am a FP PGY-1, but my program decided not to renew my contract for PGY-2. So options are as follow:

1. Scramble for a PGY-1 position, for FP, IM, and most hopefully, ER
2. Search for a PGY-2 position in other FP programs.

My program director is very mean and would not write a good recommendation letter for me. I am afraid that my experience will never get me anywhere. I want to secure a PGY-1 position first before I search for a PGY-2 position. I wonder if it is OK NOT to put my PGY-1 experience on my CV when I scramble for PGY-1 position? Can someone find out about it? Thank you for replying.

hmm sorry to hear that, thats a difficult stuation with malignant rpogram directors, i dont think some one can find out if u have been enrolled in a program , but when it comes to applying for the temporary license it might show up, i still suggest u betetr contact an attending who has been good to u or a senior , good luck

I agree with doctor1, remember that there are other faculty members who might be willing to help you. Also, why do you want to "erase" your 1 precious, priceless year of class 1 US clinical experience from your records? I would think of that twice before doing so, put in your mind that PD's would love to have someone who have a year of hands-on experience than a one who don't.

I agree with everybody! Try to find a PGY-2 position, because you really did yor first year. A friend of mine had the same situation as you are 4 years ago in IM...she had a mean program director tat wouldn't write her a good LOR, she explained the situation (the truth) to all the PDs she interviewed with for the second year, and she got a PGY2 in IM in a much better program.

Last year, her previous program was shut down, and she got into a Rheumathology Fellowship in MAssachussetts
