Extension of B1 visa
karamsoni - 01-31-08 12:19
I got this information from immigration office and thought that it may be useful to anyone trying to extend his B1 visa. These guys in immigration office have pending applications for extension of visa from 15th may,2007 and a new application now in that regard will be viewed only by late october or november 2008, but once you have the reciept of the application I-159(visa extension form) you can legally stay for 6 more months. If they happen to reject your application you will be given 30 days of time to leave USA. but that is very unlikely to happen untill october this year. Hope it helps someone.

mindswapper - 02-05-08 16:44 But one should have valid reasons for an extension. Otherwise, u may have difficulties when u file for a new visa in the future.
(Remember that u told the visa officer during ur visa i/v that u want the visa for taking the Step 2CS and to attend the i/v's ONLY).
