It's late but it's OK, what you need to make sure is to work hard to pass the CS test, you can still reschdule your test date while you're here by sticking to a computer with internet connection. You should look for the observerships once you're done with your CS AND after receib=ving your ECFMG certificate as many programs ask for that.

How to apply for observership is by locating the programs that offer it, try usmletomed.com for a list or try FREIDA at AMA "http://www.ama-assn.org/ama/pub/category/2997.html" and check the residency programs one by one to see if they have any observership opportunities then contact them.

thanks for valuable advice.if i take exam in nov by what time i'l get ECFMG cert. including all unaccounted practical kinda delays&by what time i'be able to take step3.will i be able match 2009

If you get to take the exam by november (yu'll be lucky!), your ECFMG certification shall arrive by end of February

..and by having your ECFMG certificate you then only can apply for Step 3. If you get any interviews during the upcoming season you can may get a match. Just a reminder, getting interviews doesn't gurantees getting matched. GL

by what time intrviews start,pls specify month,i want to know can i apply with step3 score in this season or not?by what time do step3 results are out if i give CS in NOV4.dec4 i'l get my result;i can schedulestep3 by what time.while typing only i realise things farfetched.still i deserve reply no?

If you take CS by November don't expect your score till mid-February, just in time for the MAtch. The application processs starts in Sep 1, Interviews are held usually OCT. Nov./ Dec/Jan/first week Feb., so you have an idea

that leaves me asking what do i do of course you answered me telling about observerships and all....also if i assess my cv without all that,it will leave me with no interview call anyway right?all these thoughts make me suffocate -properly implying 1more year wasted, puts me further back in rank order list.Still my inappropiately positive childlike mind wants to know can i match atall in 2009?

yes man actualy u will be very lucky if u get any call without cert if i was u i wud try to get the date as early as possible usually they get vacant about a wk b4 or even less than that so in that case u got to be get ready to get rid of that exam all the time b4 u take exam

thanks bazee i also intend that happens but i'm not in US right now.dont have visa as well.have to apply for it.scared if it gets refused.then again even on reaching i dont get dates that i want what will i do there till nov.of course keep begging for observerships.there are innumerable,mind boggling issues.I JUST HAVE TO PREPARE MYSELF for any adversity.I am diehard absurdly positive sometimes to level of embarressment.
