I shall be appearing for step 2 cs in a few days.I wished to know whether one has to strictly follow the perfect steps in clinical examination-the clock keeps ticking too.On which aspect of the entire encounter should lay the greatest emphasis?

Re: Guide me please!! sackatdoc - 08-14-08 12:21 CS exam as from the title you would know greatest emphasis is on the skills that prove that you are good enough for matching the standards required by US system of medicine,and Inorder to do that one has to strike a fine balance between your communication skills and clinical capabilities,and if you lack in either of these, then things are gonna be way tougher.
practically an exhaustive physical exam is not feasible and even any amount of practice will not be able to make you perform it with the absolute time constraints exam imposes, so again a vey fine balance of omission and commission i would like to put is required for PASSING cs
also there is no numerical scoring of the exam, only pass or fail so unlike other type of exams, one may never know who is 75 and and who got 99.
