Re: health insurance........ for observe
doctor1 - 06-20-08 15:13 yup there are some hospitals back home, which charge around 10,000rs including the medical examination , these usually are well accepted in us , as health insurance in us would cost a lot, also in case u r in india better get the vaccination done and a ppd too as they are usually asked for observership

Re: health insurance........ for observe
TheOne - 06-20-08 20:19 Prepare the following vaccination records:
1- Hep B (3-documented doses or positive titer).
2- MMR (1 or 2-documented doses or positive titer).
3- Tdap (Tetanus, Diphtheria and Pertusis) 1 documented dose within the past 10 years.
4- Varicella (Checkin Pox) documented dose, hx of disease or positive titer.
5- Recent PPD.
For health insurance, contact any local health insurance company for travellers insurance "they may cover you for up to 6 months while you're here".

Re: health insurance........ for observe
meghaww - 06-20-08 23:33 exactly!!!!!!!!!!!
i was told to get recent PPD, chest x ray
measles, mumps, rubella, varicella, hepatitis titres done
take vaccination if antibody levels r low
secondly i took ICICI lombard travel insurance which coverd for 50000 us dollars medical expense and that too cashless, also baggage insurance and other travel related insurance
i paid one time amount of 10,000 rupees for it, i took this for 6 months period
u can extend it if u wanr for more than 6 months by paying some extra amount
and if u want u can get insurance for 3 months also for less amount
its good i feel personally!!!!!!!!!

meghaww - 06-21-08 14:27 i didnt understand ur question

Re: health insurance........ for observe
radhamesramos - 06-23-08 18:54 If you get titers is better, if not a vaccination record is valid, as long as they can understand it (the format). If you get both, even better
