last yr my friend got a position after scramble .What he did he just started calling the progms randomly and found one position so point here is shud we do the same thing if we do then from where we start it what the methd shud be followed .I mean how we cud get any idea that xyz prog has vacant seat .Guys any sugestion are welcomed .......

I would think of approaching the programs that appeals to you, as a first step, choose the specialty then try to approach the ones that had unfilled spots during the scramble, call them and see if they still have any left. As a second step, approach the programs located nearby you. Finally, contact the ones which are IMG friendly or even non-friendly. GL

radhamesramos - 04-27-08 19:17 yes, it is...another thing don't tell them your credentials right away, see first if they are interested (just write to them: ECFMG certified, passed step 3)...if they really are, they will inquire about your credentials...another thing: programs which you did apply are first choice
