I am doing psy counseling at some of the facility but i cud not get even a single iv in psy though i got a couple in FM I think PDS dont think this job is related with psy clinical exp or it may be the reason that there was no PSY RL so now i am confused shud i get some other clincal exp or cont this job and try to get some RL what u guys say please hlp me more over i want to get a postion in psy scores are ave but g y is 1998

Re: HI forum fellows mindswapper - 03-22-08 23:56 The Psyche counseling that you are doing now is definitely an experience. But are you doing that in the US?
If not, anything that is done outside the US is considered with lesser weightage only (i.e., not counted as USCE). If you are doing so in the US, then get some good LoRs from the faculty in the place where u are doing this Psyche counseling. That should help u!

also the psy counselling u did before can be very well added in ur CV.

Re: HI forum fellows radhamesramos - 03-24-08 13:40 Sorry to tell you, Psy counseling is not considered Clinical Experience for PDs. Are you working in the Lehigh Valley Clinic by any chance?
Well, anyways: make the psychiatrists you are working with to write you down a couple of good LORs, and to refer you to any observership they know people in. Also make them to help you with your PS, and please, apply to not so high-rated programs, probably your problem is that you are applying to very competitive programs
