hrudaya - 07-05-08 03:52 by going through history it seems it is case of Carcinoma stomach and as a general oncology principle you need to get tissue diagnosis that is histopathological examination and for that the right initial investigation of choice in this case scenario is upper GI endoscopy if this is given in options otherwise chose paracentesis as it distinguishes from curable local disease to incurable metastatic disease as cytology of paracentesis can tell you it is malignant ascitis or not

glacieres8401 - 08-03-08 08:14 I think it's CT scan which should be picked up among the available options. Ideally upper gi barium study should follow endoscopy for tissue diagnosis and then ct to see if it's operable CA, but among the given limited options I would pick up CT scan,,,,,,

ammulufy - 06-26-10 21:41 Well the history is consistent wid Gastric Carcinoma.....the most common investigation for Gastric Ca.is endoscopy....followed by Ultrasound.....hence I go wid B.
