radhamesramos - 01-14-08 09:33 Besides, even if they give you lists you have to check their info with the program itself, write them or call them. Sometimes they are IMG friendly but they don't sponsor visas

Re: IMG List
radhamesramos - 01-16-08 15:38 If it's done by a company, yes you should pay. USMLEtoMD. org has it for free. The customized lists are tailored to your needs and credentials, the ones for free, you have to customize yourself, and are not as complete as the customized ones. But having a customized list does not mean that certain program is going to invite you to an interview. That is up to the PD

Re: IMG List
radhamesramos - 01-22-08 13:02 At this moment, it is hard to be invited for an interview, so get the customized list for 2009 and check what programs get unfilled positions, either you go to the scramble, or consider those programs for next year, ususally they would give out more interview spots (I guess!)

Re: IMG Residency List Customized
imgprep - 08-02-11 23:07 FAQs about the IMGPrep Customized IMG Residency Program Lists
Q: What’s the benefit to using your lists?
A: IMGPrep’s I-Match program will provide you with a CUSTOMIZED list of the programs you qualify for. All you have to do is enter your qualifications into our system: our database will build you a customized list of programs to apply to, eliminating the need to waste your time and money applying to programs that are not applicable.
Q: How will your residency lists help me save time and money?
A: With your customized residency list, you will know exactly which programs you should bother applying to. There will be no more need to waste valuable time on the phone with programs that won’t consider your application; you won’t pay costly fees applying to programs that don’t work for you.
Q: But isn’t all this information public knowledge? Why should I spend money on this if I could call the program myself and find out the information?
A: While most of the information is public knowledge, IMGPrep’s team has spent hundreds of hours researching more than 3500 programs and nearly 40 specialties in an effort to build the most complete database out there. A single applicant will only be able to amass information about a few dozen programs, at best: put IMGPrep’s database to work for you!
Q: What sort of information does the I-Match system check for?
A: Our database will check your USMLE scores, your visa status, the time elapsed since your graduation, whether or not you have a California letter and if you’ve had US clinical experience, and more, and will then cross-reference your qualifications against the programs’ requirements, giving you a customized list of programs. We’ll also let you know if the program is known for being IMG-friendly, an important fact that most databases don’t check for.
NEW AS OF 2011 we have added, PDF files to each program
-Current residents are where they went to school
-Alumni who are they where are they now
-Fellowships offered
-About the geographic area
-Percentage IMGs
-Is the program Opposed or unopposed
- Letter from the Program Director
- Attempts per Step
-Do you have to have your ECFMG in hand to obtain an interview?
Q: Can these customized residency lists help me decide which specialty to apply for?
A: Our lists are tailored to specific specialties: you can compare availability of open positions to help you decide which specialty you’d like to focus on.
Don’t take our word for it! Visit our website, at https://www.imgprep.com/img-residency today, to learn more about how you can put our unique database to work for you!
