I think u r talking about Visitor Medical Insurance. For that visit the website : www.insubuy.com
U can also find many other websites on the internet which offer a Visitor Medical Insurance.
For Observership u do not need any Malpractice Insurance because officially u r not supposed to touch the patients.
Good Luck!

I also wanted to know the same thing regarding insurance ........i got a offer to do externship but i was required to provide Proof of Medical Liability Insurance ..........my first question is how to get this insurance and cost related to it? .........my second question is Does most of the program which offers observership/externship do require the applicant to provide the proof of insurance ?

thanks

As mentioned above for Observerships one does not need any Malpractice Insurance cover.
For externships u may need it because u r supposed to touch patients.
Malpractice Insurance may be around 1200USD/year.
Here r some of the companies I found which provide malpractice insurance:

a)Stewart Smith Mid-America
30 South Walker Drive
Suite 2706
Chicago, IL 60606
Telephone Number - (312) 236-7333

b)Steve Capone
Vice-President & Senior Underwriter
Academic Health Professionals Insurance Association
A Reciprocal Insurer
Telephone: (646) 808-0591
steve@academicins.com

c)AmWINS Brokerage of Illinois, LLC
Tel: 312.575.9268
Fax: 312.575.9297
Contact, Barbara Babiak.barbara.babiak@amwins.com

I m sure u will find a lot more if u search extensively.
Good Luck!

I think it is good to have it,but remember, it does not cover vaccinations and does not provide cover for any pre-existing illnesses.
Good Luck!

I think that will not be the case with ICICI,TATA ,etc. because these r well known and well respected in their fields.
If u still r uncertain about them ,then go for insubuy.
Good Luck!
