modified keratinocytefound in areas in which fine tactile sensation is critical like the fingertips. a merkel cell+ free nerve ending=merkel diskis essential for two point discrimination.
what is then the function of meissners and pacinian corpuscles

bingousmle - 08-09-08 17:16 ya.. meissners detect shape and texture during active touch and are found inthe thick skin of the digits .transient vibratory stimuli and pressure are detected by pacinian corpuscle
