Is ATLS course helpful

Hi,
Does taking the ATLS course help to enhance the CV for those willing to take surgery and PALS and ACLS as well.
There are many regions around the globe that offer these courses round the year. Is there any regional variation in the courses, one superior than the other and one more authentic than the other....What do you suggest?

TheOne - 06-07-08 23:56 It's always a good idea to take these courses, i will personally will try do all 3 of them before this Sep.
And there's absolutely no difference or superiority between these certified training centers.. They all function under the AHA umbrella.

radhamesramos - 06-17-08 16:55 They do, what you also can do is taking them when you get into a residency program , which is then paid by the institution

TheOne - 06-17-08 21:52 I just came back from my ACLS+BLS Renewal Course, it costed me $115 plus another $15 for the handbook. This Thursday is my PALS renewal course, $85.
Next week will be the ALSO course, I think the lady told me that it will cost $35 but the syllabus plus the cards costed me $155. It's a 2-day course.
I tried to sign up for the ATLS but still can't get a hold of it as there are many surgical residents and attendings trying to take it soon, I asked the RN who's responsible of the training for the costs, it hurts.. $495 for residents.
Why am I taking all these courses, it's a simple way to stay busy while paperwork is processed for my upcoming observerships.
