Latest IMG Pass Percentages

Below is the official data from the USMLE regarding the latest Pass percentages for the IMG's:
( Examinees from Non-US/Canadian Schools)
Step-1: (2007) (%passing) (2008*) (%Passing)
1st Takers : (70% ) (73% )
Step-2CK : (2006-2007*) (2007-2008*)(JULY 1 to JUNE 30)
1st Takers : (79% ) ( 81% )
Step-2CS : (2006-2007*) (2007-2008*)(JULY 1 to JUNE 30)
1st Takers : (77%) ( 72%)
Step-3 : (2007) (2008* )
1st Takers : (79% ) (78% )
So,it is very clear from the pass percentages of step-2 CS exam that there has been a large decrease of 5% after the usmle decided to increase the passing standard for the step-2CS in 2007.Step2CS exam now has the lowest pass percentage.
Step 2CS is now the most difficult exam to pass for the 1st time IMG test takers.

Absolutely,for step-2CS it got worse.

Yes,I think so , because the 5% decrease in the Step-2CS test started after the USMLE increased the passing standards.

Re: Latest IMG Pass percentages bingousmle - 04-24-09 22:39 ok..so its applied for the CIS and ICE component.. it also states how it would reflect on the performance of IMGs .. overall 8%more chances of failing the exam.. thanks for the info..

So, the USMLE had predicted upto 8% increase in the failure percentage and it turned out to be within that .

thats true.. and it was predicted less than 1% for the AMGs..

Re: Latest IMG Pass Percentages adonis123 - 05-11-09 07:31 The high pass percentage of 78% for Step-3 can be quite misleading.This because Step-3 exam takers mostly include those who are already in a Residency training Program.
Due to this fact a proper study is needed for this exam too as is needed for other exam steps.
