D. Beginning drug therapy with a statin...the initial treatment of hyperlipidemia for preventing cardiac problems is statin..which may be coupled iwth fibrates

as this man is reported to have elevated LDL cholesterol despite diet therapy i think he should be an ideal candidate to begin statins
