Having made mistakes in the past, my credentials are less then spactacular. That said, I know that there are individuals out there with multiple board attempts who are years after graduation, and who somehow manage to worm their way into residencies. Where are these residencies who are so lenient and or desperate? Is there a list?

Re: lenient residencies radhamesramos - 01-08-08 09:01 First of all, this information comes like legends and traditions: from mouth to mouth.
These programs exist, they are out htere, the trick is to get some research tools for them, like forums for IMGs. Do not try, famous, flashy names, they just want recent graduates with publications, preferably USMGs, with no visa issues. Instead try small community prgrams, that usually USMGs do not want so they have another perspective.
By the way, don't you have any friends or classmates in residency programs right now? They can help ypu a lot, not necessarily in their programs, but in others.
Other thing, watch out for the specialty you are choosing: surgery and everything related to it is difficult, IM is getting harder everyday. Actually in Psy and FM, they prefer older, more experienced physicians, and pathology is still manageable to get, but hurry, since they are opening more medical schools in the U.S. every specialty is getting more and more difficult every year.
