39yr old lady comes with acne started 6 months ago,which becomes worse with spicy food,cold,heat. alcohol,exercise,makeup,etc.Over the counter acne meds did not help.On exam, she has pinkish flush that extends over central face and erythematous flush on the chin and multiple telangectases on the sides of the nose and her cheeks.most appropriate treatment
1.betamethasone cream
2.azelaic cream3.
3.metronidazole cream
4.terbenafine cream
5.tretinoin cream

Re: lets get started..... bingousmle - 03-15-09 10:24 ok , so is it acne rosacea, that this woman suffers from, telengiectasia and erythema being the clue,i will go for metronidazole , but this will be helpful only for the inflamatory acnes and erythema

inflammatory acne and erythema is exactly that she has got

Re: lets get started..... bingousmle - 03-15-09 23:29 just to complete the answer , this female will have to go for a surgery if she wants to get rid of her telengiectasia,and oral isotretinoin is recommended in case the symptoms are , as i assumed , refractory.

Re: lets get started..... sackatdoc - 03-16-09 00:10 tretinoin works best when there are comedones, for moderate acne&betamethasone for severe. but then this pathology is not the usual acne, we all know
