babbu5508 - 09-30-10 06:25 yeah...thats a pretty good approach...
usmletomd.com is another good site if you wanna get some information about electives and externships.....

bingousmle - 09-30-10 10:53 yeah usmletomd.com is also a good resource to start your search. you have to be very intense in search of electives, as the spots are quickly gone and the formalities are many..

babbu5508 - 09-30-10 11:09 getting an elective position looks a very cumbersome process and you should have a lot of patience for searching and applying.....

Re:MARYLAND Hospitals Which Offer Electi
bingousmle - 09-30-10 11:10 that is true.. but believe me it pays rich dividends because it is the only thing which is considered as real USCE and is important in getting a iv call

babbu5508 - 09-30-10 11:22 hmm...yup..cant deny the point though...electives are considered much higher in value than externships and observerships......

Re:MARYLAND Hospitals Which Offer Electi
bingousmle - 09-30-10 15:41 electives and externships are more or less of same value.. observerships are the ones which are rated low, cause you cannot participate in patient care actively

Freida online is an online database containing info on the US residency programs. It is also called the Green Book.I don't think it contains info about undergraduate electives.
It is not the research electives he is talking about but it is the actual clinical/basic science research which he is refering to.
Good Luck!
