Re: match radhamesramos - 03-25-08 14:33 Technically yes you can do that, in fact, a great percentage of IMGs apply like the case you said with only one more exam to go...I did it like that myself the first time I did apply: I only had Step 1 and Step 2 CK on me. But, also it is harder to get interviews like that (I got none that year) if you are an IMG. Of course if you are recently out of school and step 1 in the high 90s, you can get a couple of interviews. Just remember begfore applying, you must have a ECFMG certificate before going to the Match

agamamber - 03-25-08 14:41 plus if i do 4wk observi in fm in d hosp whr my sis is a final yr resi ,CAN HER HOSP ALLOW ME?/and 4 wk observi vid my relative who is a private practitioner, then WAT CAN I HOPE? i gradtd in dec 2004.

Re: match radhamesramos - 03-26-08 11:38 Talk to the hospital, and if your sister is there, that is a very good observership. The obsie with private practitioner is not very good seen, but you have to put that in your resume. I recommend you to pass step 2 CK as soon as possible, and apply with all the scores (Step 3 is a plus). But do the Clinical Experience, it will give your resume a lott of edge

Be active and don't leave any door without knocking on it.
Yes, obs on FM will help, how much? better than sitting.
If you get that obs in that hospital and leave a good impression, who knows, if they have an IM residency they may ask you to join them!!
Remember, be ACTIVE, I keep saying that to remind myself to move my white, shinny-ass of the chair and do some work.

Re: match doctor1 - 03-31-08 15:55 hello aga member ,programs definitely give some importance to the family members of the residents , if ur sister is there in the program i am sure they will let u do observership unless they are very strict with their rules, but no one can guarante a positon
