Patient is recently diagnosed with cancer. Previously, he had an episode of a nervous breakdown after hearing a family death and had to be admitted to hospital. He loves his family members and tends to be very open with them on all issues. how should the doctor tell the pt about his current state?

As his history is consistent with nervous breakdown following an emotional trauma,it is not recommended to reveal abt his disease directly n simultaneously his health condition can also not be hidden, hence the best option is to inform his family members abt his health condn and advice them to reveal it to the patient after he stabilizes.

as this patient has the history of having nervous breakdown due to emotional stressors the condition would best be handled by calling his family members and discuss the pt's medical condition openly and politely
