otherthan wat all books are mentioning, are any post exam people with some more practical points that one should be aware of.All dos&donts mentioned in books every body knows but inadvertant mistakes may be are the onewhich lead to failures or is there anythingeslse that bookdont mention but is definitely important?one thing i have doubt is while examining, if patient asks you a question-could be regarding same thing that you doing on him, more especially of some previous concerns that he may have, how to adress to such a situation.as far as i know one shouldnt be talking to patient while he is being examined.

to begin with the patients usually are very frindly and to be correct cooperative, so they dont pose questions that test ur knowledge of the case, but they definitely make a note of ur ability to show empathy, but not false assurance, in case the pt complains of pain i feel sorry for u but let me 1st take the history or examine u would be a betetr way instaed of going to ur next qno to meet the time line

kindly enlighten me regarding challenging question that SP might ask.are these question similar to the ones given in firstaid. Also a thing about the accent. Can that pose any difficulty?I heard theres difference in accent even in these states.Since nobody mentioned of that,I guess there isnt any.Pardon me for this query-what about facial hair-is it preferrable to be clean shaven?

For example: a patient might ask: Doctor, do i have cancer? Then you kindly explain them that you need to run further tests, etc... and that not diagnose is reached yet, etc...., or according your differentials you might explain the patient what do you think, but in lay terms nad not definite diagnoses

One SP burst on my face once i entered the room "Where the hell have you been??" I told him "I'm sorry, we had so many patient on the ER today and they came here before you so now it's your turn, again I apologize for any delays". He immedialtely said "Oh, OK" with signs of satisfaction on his face.

Another one asked me "Will I die?" and according to his condition he was just suffering from a minor GI problem; I responded by reassuring him that the test results that will come up within the next few days will show us what is the problem and that there is no fear on his life.

i get answers from both of my favourite people.THANKS.so these things are basically the same as given in books.your personal anecdote suitably confirm that practicing these topic is enough.i'l do that.you did not mention -is there a problem understanding them or not ,also Will i face some biases being ASIAN.coz all over the media ther's hype america being tolerant and everything but at the same we are kind of mocked at for our style of speaking english&also manners.some American aquintances metioned that once.you both are stayin here so kindly throw some light on it

If you have a good grasb over your english language skills "Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing" you will have no problem communicating back and forth with the SP's.

No, you won't face any bias for being asian. Please try to take this idea off your mind if you want to pass the test with less stress and eventually having a good life here. Remember that the majority of foreign physicians come from Asian origins.
