a 60 yr old man presents with headache, vomitting, weakness of left side.
in right eye there is ptosis, right eye pointing down and out, pupil dilated and does not respond to accomodation. papiledema is present.most likely cause

tonsillar herniation/AVM of ant cerebral art/aneurysm of vertebrobasilar artery/subfalcine herniation/uncal herniation

hi bingo.... just wanted to ask you which book is used for pathology and also would like to know whether there is any question bank that is subject specific..... what is the patter that you are following while study subjects.....

i dont know any qbank in particular which is subject specific, , usmle world and kaplan qbank are the most widely solved qbanks, as you know.....

by thhe way what do you thhink would be the answer for my vignette

a subfalcine herniation is the herniation of the medial aspect of cerebral hemispheres under the falx which may compress anteriior cerebral artery.... this does not explain the s/s experienced by the patient. wanna give another try...

yes , its uncal herniation also called transtentorial herniation, in which the uncus herniates under the tentorium, compressing the third cranial nerve... can you list other neurological complications that can occur in this situation
