No, not in the immediate future.This because the new legislation does not increase the number of residency spots.But, as around more than 32 million new people will be getting insured,so they will need more resident physicians for them.To accomplish that they will have to increase the number of residency spots in primary care.To increase the number of residency positions they have introduced another Act called 'Resident Physicain Shortage Reducation Act of 2009'.But, till date there has been no progress on this Act due to costs involved.This Act intends to increase the number of residency positions by around 15000.
