radhamesramos - 01-09-08 10:11 In Florida, you have UM/Jackson's memorial and Mount Sinai, Miami. New York is pretty though, but try to contact Indian residents or Attendings, they could direct you. If interested in IM, Bronx-Lebanon's IM PD is from -India. And SIU has a lot of residents from India

mindswapper - 01-09-08 16:00 In Cali, it is difficult to get into one since they aren't IMG-friendly unless u know somebody in a program!

Re: Observership
radhamesramos - 01-10-08 11:59 This season is super dificult because a lot of people who did not get any interviews and know they will have to scramble are looking these posts for this year. So, january-august is an awful time, but keep trying, some people who actuallly find a position in residency, might left one or two spots open.
Hope this helps

mindswapper - 01-10-08 12:11 I need visa. Some programs accept me to do research but they do not give visa and also want me to do as free! What shall I do?

Re: Observership
radhamesramos - 01-11-08 14:56 If they do npot sponsor visa, do not take them. Even if you are working for free, you are working, and without a work permit you could have some troubles, I know some people do it all the time, but it is no safe.
Besides, the good thing about research is publications and LORs, if you get none of them, then you wasted your time
