Can you give us some tips for the preparation?

1.which q bank is better .UW or kaplan?
2.which ccs is better .. UW or usmleconsult? Did you follow the ccs management steps same like in UW ccs or any changes?
3.Is "master the board" compulsory if someone is good with step2 CK books

finally can you share your UW,kap qbank, nbme, CD, kap q book scores?

i found the exam fairly practical, case scenario almost similar to what i have encountered in the ward. Surprisingly they also add few questions that will only be expected in step1 , so a bit nail biting there... i found day 2 exam more friendly and really do enjoy ccs , i would recommend just do ccs from UW , they have 86 cases in total, just go through them, trust me, they are more than enough for the exam,the format for ccs in the exam is very similar to uworld , although additional reading won't do any harm.

my studying materials are First Aid, uw qbank and few question from kaplan. didn't manage to finish uw qbank ( think only did 60 %) because i was really busy in the ward , but i planned early .. start studying in march, despite only manage to get 30 min to study on average, preparation was adequate over a long period of time.

all in all, recommendation is
finish first aid
do uworld and go through question in details
kaplan
ccs-uworld is enough

hey anasarca this is deja vu, there was the time when you had come out of your cs and you had manged to steal all my attention, as i was getting ready for the same, yet again you did the same, i am gettin ready for step3, your prep to me sounds too down to earth, with the facts you stated you were busy in your externship too, you must be one hell of an exam taker, you managed the toughest exam of all times without any fancy material, i want to read more articles from you plz, write more here or let me have your email.

to be honest with you, i only used uworld and kaplan and first aids but i go through them in details and i planned this exam over the period of 4 months because i knew i won't have time during my community service.
I am lucky as well, i met lots of seniors who are willing to teach me and sharing their knowledge unconditionally and perhaps this is why i did well in step 3 because its very practical, and i found learning a disease through a patient by performing examination and follow up the progress is much more easier than learning the disease from a book.
are u planning for the match for this year as well?

I am waiting my score n step 1 .... hope I pass and score good cuz my preperation was'nt that good....

if so, I would really appreciate ur help n managing for step2 & 3 ... about how to tackle the exam ....

hi sweety sorry for late reply

if u pass step 1 then i don't think you have to worry about step 2 and 3 that much..personally i feel step 1 was the worst. Studying materials depend on personal preference, i preferred usworld and kaplan , just do lots and lots of question and go through their explanation in details, don't forget first aid book, they look simple but they're vital. Other materials like crush book apparently is also good according to peer review although i haven't seen them before but extra reading do no harm.. and plan early, i planned for 5 months to make sure i don't study in a rush..

congradulation for you.i have my test in 31 of this month but i am feel not sure yet,i did usmle Qi got 47% in the total performance i don't know it is good or bad.
