Hi, everybody;
I applayed for Internal and psychiatry this year, only with my Cs and Step one . I had only one interview in psychiatry and I got also premach offer!!!
now my Q is; if I start in psychiatry can I applay for PGY2 in Internal? Is it going to be considered as violation of maching rules?

Since you will rotate in a psychiatry residency training program as a first year resident (PGY-1), you can only advance to a PGY-2, change to another program, or drop of the program and join an IM one starting as a PGY-1 "means you should go through the same process of last and this year again while you're in the Psych program".
There will be no vilations for the NRMP since you will sit and discuss that issue with the PD, a conversation that I wouldn't be envy of you for having it ever.

i think u r lucky to get 1 interview and also a prematch at the same time.can u plz tel more about your credentials?

and to your Q: My step one scor is 83 and I have 3 months of my requierment rotations from 1998, but no recent observation or anything like that.I am a greencard holder.

Re: PGY2 doctor1 - 02-25-08 21:20 congrats on getting the offer, but u cant join 2nd year in internal medicine afetr a yr in psych however if u finish psych and then join internal med that would give you a 1yr credit and u will be able to finish internal med in 2yrs instaed of 3 yrs
