Plans for 2012 Match

hello doctok,
this year i couldnt get any interview despite having 99 in both steps..I didnt have any USCE, and big Gap in C.V. i graduated 2009.
planing for observership and try getting atleast 2 LORs and step 3 too..
please suggest anything else i can do to make my profile perfect for internal medicine.
I hope residency is still open for IMGs...

Don't ever keep any gaps in yur CV.It looks really bad in one's CV.
Do observerships and get US LORs.Do some research as well if only u can.
Score high on Step-3 i.e., in 90's.
Did u pass Step-2CS on first attempt?If so then u still have high chances to get an IM residency.

Re: Plans for 2012 Match bluesea - 01-21-11 21:26 what do u mean by a gap is it like between steps or after steps suppose if a person is busy till 2008 then he takes 2 yrs to complete all steps continously till 2011 and applies in 2012 will it be considered as gap or one should do a part time job in doing steps which is imposible plz adonis reply this

Yes, it undoubtedly is a gap in the CV.
U need to show that u also used to work in some hospital at the same time.

Look, test-takers generally show that they were working in some hospital and then left their work for a month prior to their exam date.Some applicants don't even show this much of gap in their CV.
U can't write about non-clinical work at all.U need to write about yur clinical experience or some volunteer work only.
A month's gap in CV won't matter that much.
