Live attenuated vaccine
Indications: Travel to Yellow Fever endemic areas
Sub-Saharan Africa
Amazon basin of South America
Contraindications
Immunocompromised Patient : HIV Infection and those on Immunosuppressive medications
Pregnancy (relative contraindication, if the travel is unavoidable while pregnant, you can use it!)
Infant under age 6 months
Hypersensitivity to egg products
Effectiveness lasts for 10 years

DOSAGE N ROUTE:One dose of 0.5 ml subcutaneously
SCHEDULE:Routine immunization with measles vaccine at nine months of age
BOOSTER:International health regulations require a booster every 10 years
ADVERSE EFFECTS:Hypersensitivity to egg; rarely, encephalitis in the very young; hepatic failure. Rare reports of death from massive organ failure.
