Dear adonis, I read your reply about the FCVS. I'm also from Iraq and I worked as a general practitioner in Iraq after graduating medical school, completing internship and working in underserved areas. Do I have to get this FCVS?
Would they ask every hospital I worked in about my work history?
I know it's dificult to get this verifications considering the situation in Iraq.
Is it OK not to get this FCVS or we have to?

FCVS obtains primary source verification of medical education, postgraduate training, licensure examination history, board action history, board certification and identity. This repository of information allows a physician to establish a confidential, lifetime professional portfolio that can be forwarded at the physician's request to any interested party, including, but not limited to: state medical boards, hospitals, managed care plans and professional societies.
They will not verify yur work experience.They will verify yur medical education and licensure.
U shud apply for FCVS.

But ECFMG had already verified my medical eduacation, and I received the ECFMG certificate so why do I need FCVS, is it only to verify the licensure? How do they verify the licensure from my country?

U may need FCVS verificaton when u will have to apply for full licensure after residency.
FCVS obtains the verification of yur medical diploma from the ECFMG.
Verification of yur overseas certificate of registration and licensure may be done thro' ECFMG International Credential Services(EICS).
