Hi,
I have interviewed for Preliminary medicine and Anesthesia programs. From what I know, I rank each Anesthesia program, and next to it the prelim programs. Is that correct? I do not want to match into a prelim medicine program if i do not get Anesthesia. Is there a way to prevent that?

Re: Rank Order List TheOne - 01-07-08 14:52 Yes there is. On your "Primary Rank Order List" set up your anesthesia programs while on your "Secondery Rank Order List" you can set your prelim programs. Good luck.

Use Prelims IM as a secondary list, as cited by above person.

Re: Rank Order List radhamesramos - 01-08-08 09:22 And besides, if you get anesthesia, even if you do not get prelim IM, your chances of getting a position in the scramble are better than anybody else, because you could get some of those Designated preliminar positions that are only for candidates with a secure PGY2 spot
