recently i went through statics showing that only 43%of img get match, rest all of to face rejection.so i was wondering what could be the reason or lacunae on part of applicant.is that they accept only amg or applicant with USCE. IS IT NOT POSSIBLE TO GET RESIDENCY ON GOOD SCORES

Ye, AMGs r definitely favoured everywhere, because they have done their medical school from the standard US medical schools. They usually donot have any visa issues as well. After them r favoured well scoring American citizens who ahve done their medical school from outside the US and Canada. This because they usually have done their rotations in the US hospitals and have no visa issues. So, for the remaining residency positions lots of IMGs compete with each and only around 40% actually match each year. Also, number of IMGs keeps on increasing every year. There was also a huge rush of IMGs who used to work in the UK but were forced to leave the country due to the changed immigration policies.
So, all these factors r responsible for this matching percentage of IMGs.
But, this does not mean that one cannot match if one is not in the above mentoned categories. If one has good scores,US experience, recent year of graduation and no multiple attempts then one definitely has a lot of chance to get into a residency program.
Good Luck!
