hi doctok,
i m an img graduated last year and then i starttd preparing for usmle cleared both step with 99.but i dont have any clinical experience or internship or any USCE.
will it be difficult to get obs&gyn?

Re: Regarding Obs and Gyn Residency bingousmle - 05-03-10 06:24 Obs gynaec residency is a competitive speciality... however it is imperative to have some US clinical experience or observership to get US letters of recommendations which count a lot...

U have a great chance of getting into an OBs and Gyn Residency program.Yur scores r great and u r a very recent graduate.Now, pass Step-2CS on yur first attempt.Do some research or externship/observerships in Obs and Gyn.Get some publications as well.In short add to yur CV in whatever way it is possible for u to do that.
In 2009 Match the Mean USMLE Step 1 score of Independent Applicants ,which include IMGs,who matched into Obs and Gyn residency was 212 and that for Step-2CK was 219.The avearge number of research experiences and publications/Abstracts,etc was 1-2 for a matched applicant.They also had on an average 3 volunteer or work experiences.
