Re: Research J1 TheOne - 09-25-06 15:32 There will be no problem as far as I know, once you get a contract from a residency program, you can switch from Research J1 to Clinical J1.
For further information, check an immigration attorney.
P.S. there are lots of attorney web sites that can guide you through that.
