I never done research in hospital in past and i'm thinking of doing one. How should i approach the hospital for research? what happen if you don't know anything about what they are researching on?

I think we answered such a question somewhere on the match & residency forum. But I will go through it again..
What you usually do in a research is either data collection "most common" or data analysis accompanied by other members of the research group.
You should locate the hospital/institute, contact the main researcher and offer your willingness of being part of the team.
Commonly, many new researchers "who knew nothing" are offered an orientation to guide them through what they should be doing and what the main researcher is expecting them to do. You won't be lost and will learn more everyday. Good luck.

Exactly! The Oregon health science university has its website all the positions for esearch. University of Miami has its own webpage with the research openings all well, but sometimes you need somebody from within to get it
